  • bpd-allegations.csv

A cleaned and organized collection of multiple data sources, initially assembled by the Woke Windows Project. Contains documented allegations leveled against Boston Police Department Employees through the Internal Affairs Division (IAD). Allegations span from January 1st of 2001 to August 15th of 2020. The Boston Police Department has refused to disclose data past this date, violating multiple laws, and is currently being sued by organizations such as The Boston Globe and WBUR. These data were modified and translated to correct a multitude of spelling errors and incorrect classifications, unifying types of allegations to correspond with the BPD’s internal data dictionaries. If you’d rather download the raw data, you can do so right here.

  • bpd-officers.csv

A cleaned and organized collection of multiple data sources, initially assembled using raw data collected by the Woke Windows Project. Contains an extensive list of civilian and officer employees of the Boston Police Department by sourcing the City of Boston’s Alpha Listings and the bpdnews.com site’s frequently-updated Public Journal. Officers who aren’t currently active might still be receiving annual pay from the City of Boston, as of last year. These data were modified, cleaned and translated to correct spelling errors and group certain classifications to account for human error and allow for further data transparency. If you’d rather download the raw data, you can do so right here.
